Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
StudyWorms (“StudyWorms”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides an academic writing assistance platform that connects students with independent writers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and services, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated as part of placing and fulfilling an order, and limited technical information about how you use the site.
- Account and contact details — name, email address, and any contact information you give us when you register, place an order, or message support.
- Order details — the brief, subject, academic level, deadline, files, and instructions you submit for an assignment.
- Payment information — payments are processed through encrypted, third-party payment processing; we do not store your full card details on our own servers.
- Communications — messages exchanged with your writer or with support through the platform.
- Usage data — pages visited, browser type, and similar technical data collected automatically, some of it via cookies (see our Cookies Policy).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Match your order with a qualified writer and deliver the finished work;
- Process payments and hold funds securely until you approve delivered work;
- Provide customer support and respond to questions or revision requests;
- Send order-related notifications (deadline updates, delivery confirmations, support replies);
- Maintain the security and proper functioning of the website;
- Improve our services based on aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. How Your Identity Is Protected From Writers
Privacy between students and writers is built into how orders move through the platform. Your name and identifying contact details are never shared with the writer assigned to your order — only the brief, subject, academic level, and instructions needed to complete the work. Communication with your writer happens through the platform’s messaging system, not through your personal email or phone number.
4. Sharing of Information
We share information only where necessary to operate the service:
- With the writer assigned to your order, limited to what’s needed to complete it (see Section 3);
- With payment processors, solely to process transactions securely;
- With service providers who help us run the platform (hosting, email delivery, analytics), under confidentiality obligations;
- Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of StudyWorms, our users, or the public.
Completed orders are never resold, published, or shared with anyone outside your account.
5. Data Security
We use encrypted connections and industry-standard safeguards to protect the information you share with us, including payment processing and account credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to it to what’s operationally necessary.
6. Data Retention
We retain account and order information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, to comply with legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data as described in Section 8.
7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working properly and to understand how it’s used. Details on what cookies we use and how to control them are in our Cookies Policy.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address in Section 11 — we’ll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our services are intended for users who are at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction if higher. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the site or by email. Continued use of StudyWorms after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
11. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, contact us at [email protected].
